This phase of the Gulf Place Project will create public beach access areas on the east side of the public beach front with associated amenities. Amenities will include a new restroom building, a new police substation, shade structures, improved pedestrian accesses, a 20’ wide boardwalk, a new dune walkover, and attractive native landscaping. Beach Boulevard Improvements
The City of Gulf Shores and ALDOT worked together to implement improvements along Beach Boulevard that include pedestrian crossings, mast-arm signals, etc. For more information on this completed project, please click here.
Sportsplex High Jump Area
The City of Gulf Shores Sportsplex has established an impressive sports tourism reputation at regional and national levels and currently hosts the collegiate NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championship, the high school AHSSA and AISA State Outdoor Track & Field Championships and numerous other track and field events annually.
