The City of Gulf Shores and ALDOT worked together to replace the wired traffic signals with mast-arm signals and construct new pedestrian crossings along Beach Boulevard. These improvements make the signals more weather resilient and improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety. The City also expanded our 8’ sidewalks and bike lanes from West 6th Street (Windmill Ridge Road) to West Lagoon Avenue. ALDOT also resurfaced Beach Boulevard from the Gulf State Park to West Lagoon Avenue.
