18th Annual Poetry Contest

April is National Poetry Month and each year the Friends of the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Library sponsor a poetry contest!  All students in grades K-12 can participate.  Prizes will be awarded on the basis of individual merit and grade level.  


1. Creative use of language.

2. Appeal to senses.

3. Theme development.

All poems should be typed or printed on standard printer paper and must have an entry form attached.  Entry forms are available at the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores schools and public libraries as well as online.  Return your entry to your library in person or by mail at  (221 West 19th Ave., Gulf Shores, AL. 36542)  on or before, Friday, March 31st, by 6pm.

T.A.B meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 4:30PM.

Join the Teen Advisory Board to earn hours for National Honor Society, gain job experience, and marketable skills for college and job applications.  Help plan library programs and crafts. Ages 13-18.  It's FUN to help others, especially kids!

Book Bingoteen bingo card

Have FUN reading!!!  Complete the Book Bingo reading incentive card to win a variety of prizes!! When you have completed your Bingo card return it to Ms. Deanne, the Children's Librarian, in the Youth Services area of the library to receive your prize.  All ages can participate.  Happy reading!!!
