Calling All Officials: Gulf Shores Recreation Seeks Umpires & Referees for Youth Sports

Gulf Shores Recreation is recruiting dedicated officials to umpire youth sports programs. If you’re passionate about sports, teamwork, and supporting young athletes, we’d love to have you on the field. Join us in creating a fun, fair, and positive experience for our community’s future stars.

What You’ll Do

• Officiate youth games with fairness, consistency, and professionalism
• Enforce rules and ensure player safety
• Communicate clearly with coaches, players, and staff
• Model sportsmanship and keep games running smoothly

Who We’re Looking For

• Age: Depends on the sport. *Please call 251-968-1421 for more info
• Reliability: Dependable, punctual, and calm under pressure
• Knowledge: Familiarity with baseball/softball rules (prior officiating experience is a plus, not required)
• Team player: Respectful communication and a commitment to a positive game experience
• Outdoor readiness: Comfortable working outside
