The City of Gulf Shores Planning Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting electronically only on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, beginning at 4 p.m. In compliance with the Executive Orders of the Governor and the local State of Emergency, the meeting will be held with minimum staff in order to conduct necessary business.

The public who is interested in watching or participating in the meeting may click on the  link provided below to access the live stream.  

Participants will be asked to login and provide their name and address for the record and will  then be given an opportunity to provide comments or ask questions at the appropriate time via the livestream feed. 

The meeting will also be streamed via Facebook Live, however questions will only be answered by submitting them on the feed provided in the link below.

The Planning Commission is a nine member body consisting of the mayor, or his or her designee, one of the administrative officials of the municipality selected by the mayor, a member of the council and six persons who shall be appointed by the City Council. Each member of the commission shall be a resident of the city and each shall serve without compensation.


The Planning Commission hears and decides applications for site plans and subdivisions, adopts and makes changes to the City’s Land Use Plan and Comprehensive Plan, and makes recommendations to the City Council on applications for zoning changes, conditional use permits, and amendments to the city’s zoning ordinance. The Planning Commission provides technical and advisory assistance to the City Council regarding land use matters and assists in formulating land development policy.
