Steve Jones has been a Gulf Shores resident since 1991. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, he graduated from Auburn University in 1978. In 2019, he became Vice President of Special Events and Community Relations at the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, strengthening his community connections.
Steve is drawn to Gulf Shores' “Island Spirit”—its welcoming community, generosity, and warmth. As a councilman, he aims to be visible, approachable, and responsive, serving as a bridge between residents and city departments. He values being involved not just as an official, but as a neighbor and advocate.
His priorities include completing three key projects: the new justice center, Gulf Shores High School, and the pedestrian bridge. He believes these will become cornerstones for Gulf Shores' future and examples for other communities.
