[ARCHIVED] Double Red Flags posted on Gulf Shores beaches

Beach Warning Flags

The City of Gulf Shores has posted double red flags on all beaches within the corporate limits of Gulf Shores. This includes all beaches from Gulf State Park west to Laguna Key. The presence of double red flags indicates that extremely hazardous conditions are present and all waters are closed to the public.

While water conditions may not appear to be life-threatening, the underlying rip currents that are present represent a significant risk to anyone entering the Gulf.

For more information regarding current surf conditions, dial 251-968-TIDE or visit www.gulfshoresal.gov.
