[ARCHIVED] City of Gulf Shores Opens Applications for Spring Cycle of Nonprofit Grants Program

Nonprofit Grant Funding (2)

The City of Gulf Shores is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Spring cycle of its Nonprofit Grants Program. This initiative provides funding to nonprofit organizations that deliver essential services and programs benefiting Gulf Shores residents, reinforcing the City’s commitment to meeting community needs and creating meaningful local impact.

“The Nonprofit Grants Program reflects our dedication to supporting organizations that make a real difference in the lives of Gulf Shores residents,” said City Administrator Jon Walker. “We want to ensure these groups have the resources they need to continue their important work.”

The program offers two funding cycles each year—Spring and Fall. Eligible nonprofits may receive up to $2,000 per cycle, with a maximum of $4,000 per calendar year. Organizations do not need to be physically located in Gulf Shores but must provide direct services to residents. Funds may be used for projects, events, or essential resources, but cannot be applied toward salaries, debt service, operational costs or political lobbying.

Applications for the Spring 2026 cycle are now being accepted through February 15. Submissions will be reviewed by the City’s Grant Review Committee, prioritizing organizations that demonstrate significant local impact and efficient use of resources.

The Fall 2025 cycle awarded grants to organizations including:

  • Christian Service Center – Emergency assistance for residents in crisis.
  • Sea Glass Initiative – Transportation services for unhoused and vulnerable individuals.
  • Gulf Coast Arts Alliance – Community art education and cultural outreach.
  • Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium – Coastal research and education programs.
  • South Baldwin Literacy Council – Adult literacy and ESL instruction.
