[ARCHIVED] Local Camps invited to participate in Coastal Community Camp Day

The City of Gulf Shores will host its 2nd Annual Coastal Community Camp Day on Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center.

The event is setup to be a one-stop-shop for families looking to register for summer fun. All local
camps and programs are invited to showcase their activities by reserving a booth of their own, free
of charge.

“Our goal is to provide members of our community an opportunity to learn about all of the wonderful youth camps our area has to offer and allow them to plan some great summer activities for their kids,” said Nicole Ard, Recreation Manager. “The great thing about this event is that it's a one-stop-shop for summer camp fun.”

According to Ard, last year’s event featured a dozen camps from around Pleasure Island and over 300 attendees.

“We received a tremendous amount of support last year and we are hoping to build upon that momentum with even more participation this year,” said Ard.

Anyone interested in reserving a booth for the Coastal Community Camp Day can do so by contacting the David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center at 251-968-1420. Space is limited and all booths are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Deadline to reserve a booth is April 5.
